Affordable Japanese ala carte buffet

Do you love Japanese cuisine?
feel suffocated when looking at the menu because of their shocking price? especially sashimi set?
and then start thinking "how good if the sashimi sets are free so that i could have as many as possible" ?
This is not a DREAM anymore.
we all know that there're a lot of Japanese buffets in town but which one is the most worthwhile?
I'm not a foodie. I can't compare each type of dishes from different restaurants and tell you which is the best. haha
世上没有最好吃的美食
只有适合你口味的美食

I measure a restaurant based on its environment(20%), price(30%) and taste(50%). For sure there are 'dummy variables' too such as service and promotion. XD

so far I've been to 3 Japanese buffet restaurants only - Mitasu, Tao, and Shogun.
Their price are more or less the same lah.. not much difference.
In Shogun, you have to pick your food on your own.
While in Mitasu and Tao, there are waiters ready to take your order and serve you. You dont need to queue for food and wait in a crowd. Just sit nicely and enjoy your food.
To be honest, i had a bad experience in Shogun where some other customers grabbed all the oysters (both cooked and uncooked) once those were served. I can see they love oysters alot >.< However, Shogun serves the widest variety of food among the 3 ;)

Among Mitasu, Tao and Shogun, I've been to one of those twice. Make a guess, which 1 was it?

Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie

oh well~ 男人大丈夫 一言九鼎 !
my brother - Alex Yeoh has kept his promise and celebrated my graduation at an awesome place.
hehehe he knows i like British style restaurant and western food so much :)
That's why he have chosen to have a nice breakfast at Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie as a celebration for me

Got up early in the morning on a weekend for a breakfast is not an easy task BUT this was an exception haha. My brother and sister in law told me that Levain's all-day-breakfast is awesome. Too bad they no longer serve all-day-breakfast by the time we arrived. The breakfast set is served until 10.30am only but we reached at 11am LOL >.<

What does a crowded restaurant mean? you know lah har~

A corner full of different types of bread, sandwiches, cake, pizza, and even macaroons ^^
No more all-day-breakfast set... what to eat?
If I'm not mistaken, there is no picture of food on the menu. only words.
I can't calm myself while scanning through the menu because there was a long queue. People are waiting for me. Sangat ganjeong you know?
So, what kind of words caught my attention first on a menu with no pictures?
- cheese, seafood, beef etc.

Let''s see what I have ordered :)
Feed your phone before feeding yourself  !
Creamy Beef Bacon Spaghetti - RM14.80

 Fettucine Creamy Salmon - RM21.80

Oyster Pasta - RM16.80

I'm not a pasta/spaghetti lover because pasta/spaghetti itself is tasteless. The taste of it fully depends on the spices and ingredients used.
I would like to give a big applause to the chef of Levain because the 3 pastas/spaghetti that i've ordered are very TASTY!!!!
Other than Italiannies' Classic Carborana, these are the best pasta/spaghetti that i've ever had, especially the Fettucine Creamy Salmon! yummy~~^^

This... this..... this is a chocolate bun.
You know i don like chocolate if you've read my "20 facts about me"
Choco Crunch - RM3.30
Although I don't like chocolate, it doesn't mean that I will never eat chocolate or that i hate chocolate. haha
There would be exception just like this one because it is not so sweet ^^ Chocolates which are not too sweet are acceptable. Although i recommend this choco crunch to you all but i only ate a quarter of it. Why? isn't it delicious?
IT IS DELICIOUS. it's just that i will feel uncomfortable after taking chocolate.
I-DON'T-KNOW-WHY

Last but not least, let us take a selfie~

 1. I thought i was safe from this game until my Kathie tagged me on instagram >.< aduiiii~

4. I have natural brown hair.
5. I look thin but i have a very scary waistline - 27 inches @@"

8. I don't usually take selfie but when i do, there would be at least 10+ selfie with the same face/angle. hahaha

Out of all the dishes, i can only remember the price of Salmon Lover. why? how much? What if i say it's cheap? aiya... price is very subjective one i know. hahaha

Last Friday Night

It's been some time since i last enjoyed my Friday night because i used to go back to Kampar on Friday after work. LOL i dont mean that im not happy going back to my hometown. It's just that im used to spending my friday nights in the car and sleep, all the way from KL to Kampar ;)
Since the day i started working, i barely have the time to enjoy my life, even after working hours. Working life is just too ...... not to say stressful or something bad. I feel that im a real life robot now. haha
Start up my engine at 8am every morning and switch it off at 6pm in the evening.
Finally... my engine has broken down few days ago. LOL rested for 2 days and restarted my engine again after that.
Anyway, this is just the starting point of the 2nd stage of my life. imma still a baby robot thou. Everything starts from basic.
Okay, I was here last Friday night :)
 Breathtaking night view from SkyPark
Take a lift to the Sky Park on the 10th floor for a great view of Subang Jaya's traffic LOL. The breezy open space on the Sky Park gathered different types of restaurant/cafe/bistro. This is really a perfect place to release tension by yourself or with your loved ones.

i bet most of you have already known about the concept of this SkyPark haha but how many of you dare to step on this piece of glass? Put your hands up~*
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED ! i believe i can fly~

Up to the sky and down to the earth LOL
"landed" at Charlie Chaplin

Back to 18th century atmosphere, with classic tiles, black painted wooden wall and book rack, and dim black umbrella lights hanging from the ceiling

my cup of ..... Vanilla Latte. my first thought of this latte is that it's something like the ordinary white coffee with coffee art on top but im wrong. LOL This Vanilla Latte is totally different from the latte we would normally get. Charlie Chaplin's vanilla latte looks like 'Long Black' - latte without susu? hahaha

Friday night, a should-be-relaxing-night. Dessert is a must !
This Cheezecake Mango makes me speechless while eating it. why?
- non stop feeding myself spoon after spoon. Worth recommending!!!

Kampar 36stalls - Beef noodle

okay, this is a Kampar 36stalls's sequel. I have posted about 36stalls' laksa previously which is also known as the most famous laksa in Kampar. You may view it HERE .

Other than laksa, beef noodles aka sirloin noodles just might be another one of your favourite cuisines, i think.

Stall no.19 - 牛腩干捞面

a close up of the sirloin soup. Recalling the sweetness of soup makes me drool, although the main 'character' is the beef haha. Frankly speaking, the beef is very juicy and soft.
The price of this cuisine is around RM6-RM7.
too bad that you have to pay for extra meatballs. I haven't tried their meatball yet so if you've got the chance to do so, tell me how was it har :D

However, there are 2 issues when i happen to be craving for it:
1 - The price is getting more expensive >.< maybe due to inflation? i duno~ haha but having this once in awhile is still considered affordable lah~
2 - The hawker asked me to carry my food by my own instead of serving it to me >.< as you can see from the picture, it's divided into a bowl of beef soup and a plate of noodles. It's really hard to balance myself walking through such a crowded place. hmmmm >.< what to do? i pleaded them to carry it for me. i donwan the bowl and plate to become empty before i get to sit down. LOL

besides the main course, here is a snack for you - stall no.16 炸丸
 crispy and yummy ^^

Kampar 36stalls - Laksa

Browsing through my camera album because i have nothing to do now LOL other than selfies, i realized that i actually have more photos of food - I like to take photo of my food before putting it into my mouth. This has become my habit since the day i started using instagram @.@
oh well, i found two different photos of laksa
The first one......
you know which stall made this laksa if you've been to Kampar 36Stalls.
yeah~ this is from stall no.17 - AhYew Laksa 阿耀叻沙, the most famous laksa in town.
There's no need to describe how delicious it is. i bet most of you have tried it, and felt satisfied with it.

what about the other one? other than AhYew laksa
Here is another choice for you....
tadaa.... this laksa is from stall no.22

If you ask me which one is better, i would say that the question is very subjective haha
I personally prefer the laksa from stall no.22 because it is not that spicy compared to AhYew laksa and it is sweeter. I love spicy food but cannot tahan spiciness at the same time >.< my lips will looks like McD叔叔's after consuming spicy food. Sometimes, my lips crack seriously because i have sensitive lips.
So, stall no.22's laksa is my choice :)
Which one is yours?

The Scott's Pub & Restaurant

Fraser's Hill. The first thing that came to my mind was - RELAX and enjoy the food
Before heading to Fraser, i did some research on the restaurants and food in Fraser because my boy told me that the food choice is limited. Hmmm~
Other than mamak or local "food court" ... i found this
The Scott's Pub & Restaurant
i've gone through their menu.. the prices are reasonable. That's why we had our brunch and dinner there LOL

free meal of the day - bread and butter
my all time favourite breakfast.

 his breakfast set RM18.00
Too bad beef bacon is not available on that day >.<

my Spaghetti Bolognaise Chicken RM16.00
overall it's okay.. i would give a 65% which means better than average.

As mentioned earlier, we had our dinner at this place too because of its environment.
external nightview of Scott's

British style interior design

his ginger beer with a slice of lime and my tomato juice.
The tomato Juice tastes so special. not sour at all but a bit salty.

 Sirloin Steak RM28.00

Lamb Chop RM22.00
hojiak! i mean the lamb chop.
Sirloin steak is not that bad also lah~
