2019 Birthday Dinner @ Grub

When we talk about new year,  we will automatically look back at the past year to see what has happened, what have we learned, what brought us down, and set new year resolutions, to be motivated to grow in the next year. My 2018 started great and it remained smooth throughout the year, up until the end when it turned bad all of a sudden.

Putting the bad mood aside. My permanent new year resolutions:- Eat good, Sleep good, Live good !
yup, this might sound 肤浅 because people set more sophisticated goals while mine is just... erm... they seem achievable with 0 effort. But, to me, they are not easy at all and they are not measurable by any objective means. They depend totally on my own expectations and feelings.

Food - a basic human need
I updated my insta story quite often, mostly with with food posts. I can't tell which place serves the best food because every one has different taste buds and expectations.
However, i would still like to share with you a good place that serves nice steak.

Grub by Ahong & Friends @ Seksyen 17 PJ

The first time I visited Grub, honestly, I was a little bit surprised by their interior decoration. i won't describe the environment, you can google it on your own. Don't get me wrong, it is just not as cozy as i had expected but it's clean, bright, and comfortable to dine in :) my bf and i didn't make a reservation that day and it was a weekend. we waited 20 mins before they open for business (at 6 p.m. for dinner). Guess what? Fully booked lo.

But thanks to their staff who gave us a chance to try even though it's a bit "risky" i would say because we were suggested to finish our meal by 6.30pm (because ppl already booked ma..)
Their team did a good job. They were very efficient and the quality is there. 一点都不马虎

We ordered Wagyu steak and Tenderloin steak. Both were medium well. Oh ya, if you prefer the steak to be cooked "medium", i can guarantee that you will get it done exactly that way, not well done nor medium well done steak. LOL you get what i mean.
The tenderness, and juiciness... awwww~ as well as the blood-coloured meat framed by white fat.. that's..... satisfying.

The second time i visited Grub was on my 2019 birthday.🎆
If the food is not nice, what for did i visit here the second time? and it's on my birthday some more. Very logical and simple, right? Their steak is just NICE !
This time, we ordered 1kg of meat... it comes with salad, stir fried baby kailan, and steamed potatoes. this is too much for 2 pax la. We cannot finish them all >.<

Let me tell you a little about one of their side dishes - the potato salad. They are not baked nor grilled but steamed potatoes served with home made white sauce. sorry but i do not know how to describe the taste, they are just nice and impressive. 它是个不简单的番薯（是马铃薯啦）

Zapbalang Blogpost 之 2017~2018

I was shocked when some of my friends told me that they didn't know I was once a banker. haha

since the day i resigned, I have started to approve some new friend requests on my Instagram account and Facebook account. 

you might be asking "why? you not very pantang one meh?" 

anyway, I'm still pantang in adding colleagues. But fyi, my current company is so damn PEACEFUL, peace as in no time to gossip. And my colleagues are all gentlemen, to be specific, they are engineers. 

for this blogpost, I just want to do a quick recap on what I have done in the past 2 weeks. 

30/12/2017~6/1/2018 

The beautiful bride. My ex-colleague a.k.a my bestie. ♡

as quoted in my previous blogpost "We built friendship through daily connection, not Facebook."

From the day she resigned until now, we still don't have each other's Facebook/Instagram account. 😄

yet, we keep in touch every day你不明的啦 

i witnessed her marriage proposal, marriage registration, and attended her wedding dinner (30/12). 

特别有感触

it's worth travelling all the way from KL to Teluk Intan for her wedding dinner and come back to KL on the next day (31/12). 

you must think that i came back for new year eve's countdown. 

no loh! i takut jam nia

feel happy and unlucky at the same time because my brothers set up a surprise birthday dinner for mom and I at Jam Factory, Puchong....but I experienced wisdom tooth pain. My gum got swollen and I had totally no appetite. 

haizz.. wasted la. got haoliao but cnt eat. 

p/s: not sure if my dad is reading my blogpost. but i guess he must be getting jealous. 

hahaha because he was in Kampar 😁

The next day (1/1/2018) HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

what did I do on the first day of 2018? 

see dentist loh... i die die donwan to cabut my wisdom tooth

this is how i spent my new year. taking antibiotics, pain killers and sleep. 

Then, the next day... which is my birthday (02/01), i went to work. first time working on my birthday. 

My wisdom tooth was still causing pain and I got quite busy at work. 

Thank you my Mr.Baobei. He woke up early to help me apply for season parking pass at my new office and did all the testing as he just wanted to make sure the tag is working. love you 99💗

Then, he came to pick me up at night. 

Celebrated my birthday at Vantador, Desa Sri Hartamas.

cozy ambience, quality service

this is probably the biggest steak i've had in my life. 

 Luckily the staff suggested us not to order two sets. hahaha 

purposely upload this because my legs look long here😄

busy days continued until i ended my career in bank.

Sing K is usually our gathering activity.

Birthday has passed, farewell has passed

My lil Diary - End of Chapter 1

转眼间 3年了

毕业到现在 把我的青春花在这儿

从很得空 到 很忙

得空的时候还真的可以坐着发呆 忙起来就连午餐都没得吃

有喜悦 有悲哀 有生气

顾客 从陌生人 到 彼此记得名字 熟悉了

上班的最后一天 难免情绪难以平复

让我留念的 是份 情

They all know that I don’t usually add colleagues on Facebook. But they are still my friends. No longer my colleagues. They are my real friends, in real life.

We built friendship through daily connection, not Facebook.  

Feel so touched that .. some of them wrote me small notes. To remind me that I’m good.

Glad that I have a bunch of very 38 ex-colleagues a.k.a friends. 

And of corz… my bossed who trusted me a lot. 

Gave me chances to build myself up in different ways. 

First time becoming an emcee, a speaker for kindergarten students, etc.

“Don’t be afraid of picking up new roles. Keep challenging yourself.” This is how my bosses encouraged me to be a better person.

The Devil in Your Life

在现实生活中 我们难免遇到一些看起来像朋友 转身却是恶魔的人。

之前阅过一片文章 作者详细地分解这群“恶魔”的特征。

过后我也开始留意和慢慢发现（恶魔在身边）的现象。够倒霉的说

其实不必留意 读完这篇文 第一个出现在你脑海里的那一位就是你现在面对的恶魔啦

很多时候我们都自我感觉良好 以为自己很了解身边的人 觉得他们都是好人

这是人以群分的THEORY么？great theory but not applicable sometimes.

恶魔，表现出来的他们 是好的 不可能这么容易让你发现到他们是恶魔嘛对不对

这样的话就很不professional了 haha

他们往往会利用在你眼里的好印象去达到他们的目标

Once you get in their path, be ready to be used, manipulated, and thrown away like trash without any second thoughts like how we blend fruits. 榨干榨净

我们从小就被教导 要看别人的好 see the good in people, ignore the bad.

可是又如何可以分辨出 什么样的人才值得我们去深交呢？

人群中的恶魔又是怎样的呢？在这里我就summarize了 我觉得最明显的3个points:

• Denying reality, withholding information and twisting facts

有时候当你告诉他某种情况的发生时，他都会说那消息不靠谱然后告诉你他那方的消息。
即使你的消息是对的，他还尽量隐瞒某些对他不利的资料 然后改编。
就因为你的消息情况不是他所想要的/预料/计划之中。

在这种情况下，他的口头弹是 – 我告诉你真相；没有必要骗你的 其实是这样的…

他们的确没有骗你啦，只是隐瞒你某些事情

如果被你发现了？他还可以继续篇故事的 加盐加辣 直到你自己觉得愧疚为止

（为什么愧疚？因为你质疑他啊！）

They will ‘sincerely’ explain to you why they were forced to lie about it, and you might even start feeling sorry for them.

This is facts vs their twisted ideals and interpretations.

• Lying constantly & Misleading people

他们懂得人心。精明的表达方式是他们的天赋。每一个从他们口中说出的谎言几乎是没有漏洞的。 Perfect！给个Like他们

骗你是为了从你那得到更多他要的资料。
也不算骗啦，只是见人讲人话，见鬼讲鬼话。
委屈一下他自己融入你们的世界，假扮成你的队友，让你觉得你们是同一阵线的。

为了挖掘更多point去编出有利于他故事，他们会表现出很有诚意地，很想要帮你的样子。
转个身却在你背后酸笑你。

被你拆穿又怎样？某偶像剧台词：说了一个谎就得说另一个谎去圆第一个谎。

Each time you catch them in a lie, they will tell you a dozen more to cover it up.

他们精通天时地利人和 。

在对的时间 用对的消息 对的词语 去误导你。这种招数通常用于挑拨离间之意。

令你觉得你被讨厌，被针对，被排斥。 让你觉得害怕，不知所措，是个弱者。

到最后，他就成为了你最可靠的“朋友”。无论他说什么做什么，你都会相信他 依靠他。

他们可以随意在你脑海里create你有敌人的假象； 让你觉得没有他不行；你做什么都不到位。就因为他们厉害说话。

Words are their weapon, and they know how to handle it nicely.

• Manipulating & Remorselessness - Control freaks

很会狡辩，利用人，操控所有因素，并且不觉得惭愧的。

很有当编剧的特质。

They know how to plan ten steps ahead and they always know the purpose of their manipulation.

为了达到目标，就算你是提供资料给他的人，他出卖你也不稀奇。

精人出口，笨人出手。到最后立功的是他，愚蠢的你是帮凶咯。

所谓：借刀杀人；过桥拆板

They will make you feel stupid, make you do the things they are not competent at doing, and they know how to take all the credit afterward.

你是他的诱饵，钓到大鱼了，达到目标了，你就该被抛弃消灭了。

他不会珍惜你对他的贡献。也不会因为利用你而觉得内疚。
他只享受看着别人被他的计划折磨。

知己知彼 百战百胜 当然会操控到底 所有事情都必须在他们掌控之中

这段时间，你们是好朋友。这样好办事嘛。
随随便便的意见你也会当圣经。影响你的想法，越来越没有自己的立场。

他们是100%完美主义者，绝不容许他们的计划有一点点儿的瑕疵。

It is very simple. And it all becomes very evident once they start losing the power to control.

Do not expect them to change for you, as you mean nothing to them.

重点是，他们说的 劝的 都充满负能量。他们从不说好话，只会泼冷水。

他不喜欢别人过得比他好。没自信也许是他们最大的弱点。

践踏别人的强，掩盖自己的弱。哎哟，不错哦！

Nobody is perfect, and if someone is trying to look perfect, they have something they are hiding beneath. So please, to love yourself more, you should live your life surrounded by genuine, positive and sincere people. Be more aware of whom you are surrounded with, and always love yourself enough to let go of toxic and evil people.

Places for GOOD FOOD in PENANG?

As most of you know, I travel to Penang at least once a year.

And so a lot people have asked me, eh... where to get "haoliao" (nice food) in Penang ar?

It's hard for me to suggest places where i've been to the most in Penang for good food through Whatsapp bcoz there are just too many haoliao already. 

Other than those mainstream local food like laksa/prawn mee/cendol/o'jian

let me introduce you to other nice local food.

Trying hard to make it a simple blogpost

Here we go:

1. 大山脚盖饭 Bukit Mertajam Cup Rice

It might appear to be like a plate of normal chicken rice but it is actually a combination of roasted chicken, roasted pork (烧肉!!!), and rice topped with special gravy. Simply delicious. 

2. 大山脚鸭粥 Bukit Mertajam Roast Duck Porridge

It may sound strange to go for a meal at a housing area but you must try this roasted duck porridge no matter what. crispy skin, soft and boneless meat, pairs perfectly with their thick and flavourful porridge.

3. 大山脚芋饭 Bukit Mertajam Yam Rice @ Sentosa Corner

Basically, the Yam Rice comes with a bowl of salted vegetable soup consisting of pork that comes in different forms: meatballs, lean meat, pork belly, Feel free to specify what you want in your soup and they'll prepare it according to your order.
You may also opt for innards like the liver, intestines, blood cube etc if you like.
Fyi, Sentosa Corner is also selling Portuguese egg tart (葡挞) and Siew Bao (烧包). very "laku" one.


4. 大山脚鸭蛋炒果条 Bukit Mertajam Duck Egg Char Kuey Teow @ Jalan Pasar 

yesssss... many of you have heard about the famous duck egg char kuey teow in BM. but which one is the best? If im not mistaken, there are at least 3 places selling this. 

In my opinion, this is the best kuey teow in town. 

It is located at the same area as Cup Rice. 

However, this stall only operates at night. 是个路边摊 在德士车站旁边

Please go earlier like around 8pm or else you have to wait for seats. Normally i will order extra fried egg lah. but it fully depends on your luck because of the number of duck eggs is limited. 

5.  Nasi Kandar @ Mohd Raffe, Pulau Tikus.

The picture says it all. would you order a big portion like this if the food is not nice? hahaha

Definitely the best Nasi Kandar i've had. But seriously you'd be hard pressed to find one nasi kandar in Penang that doesn't taste good, it just so happens that I prefer this one.

6. Spade's Burger 

 yea. when talk about burger, you all must guess whether it would be one from a stall by the street like Ramli burger.

I can guarantee you wouldn't go for other burgers after you have tried Spade's Burger. 

not kuajiong at all. it's the truth. 

Baconizer is my choice because of its hyper crispy bacon and juicy meat topped with tasty sauces. 

OMG... drolling now. 

there are only a few branches as of now - Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Tikus... The rest you can find on their FB page. LOL

CAN ANYONE OPEN ONE IN KL AREA / KLANG VALLEY??? PLEASE!!!
